With her A-list parents, she's can probably have anything she wants.

But it's easy to forget that Suri Cruise is just like any other five-year-old, and gets a tired after a long day.

Her actress mother Katie Holmes tried to occupy the little girl last night as she took her to see Mary Poppins on Broadway.

She was seen pulling funny faces and chatting happily to her daughter as they left the New York City apartment.

Suri had begged to be picked up by Katie, despite the former Dawson's Creek star having her hands full with her blanket.

Katie, 33, quickly relented and hauled her daughter into her arms.

She must be getting heavy now that she's almost six.

Katie went for schoolgirl chic in a blue shirt under a black dress with a large coat and stockings.

She added a pair of buckled heels to complete the look.

The pair were earlier seen running errands in New York, with Katie again carrying her daughter.

Expanding her cultural horizons: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took daughter Suri to see the Big Apple Circus' DREAM BIG! show at the Lincoln Center in New York last night


As the daughter of two of the most famous actors in Hollywood, Suri Cruise has a slightly different upbringing to most other children.

But when it comes to expanding their little girl's cultural horizons, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are like any other parents - keen to ensure the five-year-old dreams big when it comes to her plans for the future.

So yesterday, the pair decided to treat little Suri to The Big Apple Circus' DREAM BIG! show held at Damrosch Park, Lincoln Center in New York City.

While Katie dressed down in a black skirt, tights and grey cardigan, Mission: Impossible star Tom looked dapper in his grey jumper and coat, teamed with a pair of black trousers.

Little Suri, meanwhile, was hidden from sight by her big fur coat as mother Katie carried her out of the center.

However, what was clearly to see was that Suri didn't appear to be dressed appropriately for the cool temperatures of New York, wearing gold sandals and bare legs for her night out.

Earlier in the evening, Suri had been seen arriving for the event with father Tom Cruise, with just a glimpse of her pink silk dress visible under her coat.

And while Tom and Katie are hoping to encourage Suri's dreams with the show, the little girl certainly doesn't need any encouraging when it comes to composing a Christmas list.

According to In Touch Weekly magazine, the total of the gifts Suri wants for the festive season comes to a staggering $130,000.

A source told the publication: 'Her number one wish is a pony.

'Even though she has everything she could ever want, Suri asked for diamond earrings and beautiful dresses, like a fairy princess gown.

'Tom and Katie love the holidays and always go overboard to make sure Suri has a magical time.

'They are buying absolutely everything she asked for.

'Suri is very mature and know what she wants.'
